Performing Arts Students – Speak Up Performance
March 1 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pmPay what you can
Domestic Abuse Performance
The Second Year Performing Arts Students at the Guernsey College of Further Education have been creating a piece for Safer and will be performing this on 1st and 2nd March at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts.
The students have explored all aspects of domestic abuse and their piece aims to raise awareness of the wide ranging impact and the victim’s journey.
We had a small taster of the performance at the All You Need is Love Ball and we are excited to see the whole performance!
Relaunch of Speak Up Facebook Page
The evenings will also relaunch the Speak Up Facebook page run by the Youth Commission. This is a digital platform for the young people of Guernsey to share their thoughts on issues that affect them and their community.
Drug and Alcohol Strategy Performance
The Performing Arts Students will also be performing a piece aimed at year 9 students which uses humour to examine the impact of cannabis on teenage brains and highlights some of the long term effects.
In a packed evening there will also be guest youth speakers giving their own perspectives of local issues.
We will be setting up a Safer stand in the foyer at the Performing Arts Centre for both performances and if you are interested in volunteering to help at the Refuge or to help with fundraising or in any other way there will be someone you can speak to either before the performance, during the interval or at the end of the performance.
1st and 2nd March, 2017. Starting at 7:00pm
