The composition of traditional fishing boats in a west coast dusk leads us to sail into the sun which has already set over the horizon. Guernsey poster print 13 by Roy Tubby has captured the shape and colours of the boats in the fading day as they dry out on the receding tide. The wet sand oozes under the closets boat and its tender inviting you to wade in and look over the gunwale.
Ray, the artist’s son has the following to say about this picture. “This was the first picture that dad ever exhibited and to all are surprise won the first prize picture of the year in the visual arts competition in I think 1982.”
The print will look fantastic in your lounge, dining room, bedroom, office – just about anywhere! It will also look great with other pictures by Roy that we have on sale.
