Montville Drive is a charming path on the outskirts of St Peter Port and is the wintery scene in Guernsey poster print number 6 by artist Roy Tubby. This image has also been used to produce Christmas cards for Safer.
We do not often get snow in Guernsey. This rarity adds to the excitement when we do get a sprinkling of the white stuff! The artist draws you into the picture placing the adult, in the red, and the child, in the blue, in the centre of the scene. Walking through the snow laden trees of this winter wonderland must have been an enchanting experience for them.
Ray, the artist’s son said of this painting. “This is inspired by a photo taken by my brother during the worst winter I can remember back in 1963 .We lived not far from Montville and Geoff had gone out with his new camera that he had for Christmas and came back with this lovely shot.”
The print will look fantastic in your lounge, dining room, bedroom, office – just about anywhere! It will also look great with other pictures by Roy that we have on sale.
